King County Metro announced today that all 1,200 buses in its fleet will complete HVAC upgrades by summer, installing hospital-grade air filtration systems.

The $4.2 million investment follows rider surveys showing air quality as the top concern for returning transit users post-pandemic.
Similar upgrades are planned for Sound Transit Link light rail by year-end.
